Find Forever Gone for A Tattered Page

Find Forever Gone is a necklace with a locket, designed for A Tattered Page. ATP is an in-store event that takes its inspiration from a book at a time, this time from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

The locket is one of the most important objects in the original Frankenstein story. It brings death, indirectly, to two people, and sets one of the main thematic arcs of the story in motion.

Interestingly, it is not described in any great detail, leaving it open to myriad interpretations. It’s not even quite clear if it’s a locket at all. In some parts of the novel it’s called a miniature (as in a miniature portrait necklace, common in the latter half of the 18th century) and in some it’s called a locket, as we would know the term to exist today. Since they are used interchangeably, we went with the locket.

Although the locket in the story holds the image of Frankenstein’s mother, this one will allow you to place your own photos within it.

“She told me that that same evening William had teased her to let him wear a very valuable miniature that she possessed of your mother. This picture is gone, and was doubtless the temptation which urged the murderer to the deed.” – Frankenstein, chapter 8

“As I fixed my eyes on the child, I saw something glittering on his breast. I took it; it was a portrait of a most lovely woman. In spite of malignity, it softened and attracted me. For a few moments I gazed with delight on her dark eyes, fringed by deep lashes, and her lovely lips; but presently my rage returned: I remembered that I was for ever deprived of the delights that such beautiful creatures could bestow; and that she whose resemblance I contemplated would, in regarding me, have changed that air of divine benignity to one expressive of disgust and affright.” – Frankenstein, chapter 16.

The locket holds two symbols of death: Calla lily on its lid and a small skull on top of it. The tiny ribbon bow the skull wears adds a barely perceivable touch of quirk to the design. The necklace’s pearls changing into chains as they reach the locket befits this piece of jewelry, echoing the beauty’s shift to despair and decay.

There’s an event exclusive version available that will not be sold again after the event, so if you want it you better grab it now! There’s also a non-exclusive necklace that comes with a colour change HUD that allows you to choose the colours for the cameo base, the Calla lily, metal and pearls separately. The necklaces are unrigged mesh so you can resize and reposition them easily.

Both versions come with a closed, and an open locket. The open locket has room for people to include two photos of their own.

Permissions are copy/mod/no-transfer.

Price is L395 for the necklace with the HUD and L200 for the event exclusive.
